Uran the Protector

My dream this morning began with me at a raffle drawing. I was there with my step-mom and step-sister. There were all women in attendence. The top prize was a new car. Everyone present was given a tube and the top was popped off to reveal a token representing the prize. My step-sister started first and won a minor prize and stormed out the room in a huff. My step-mother too won a minor prize and was content. I was next and opened the tube to find a matchbox toy car. I had won the top prize!

The dream then takes a strange turn. I visualize a tarot card. The name of the card is Uran the Protector. There is a medieval male character flying in the air with a pentacle in each hand and beams of light are shining forth from each hand to the left of the card. I am lucid in this dream and I am lying in bed watching this at the foot of my bed. The next thing to happen is a dark black phase colored fox pops his head up under my left arm. Then I wake up.

I get up get and get ready for my drive to school this morning. I am driving south on U.S. 27 heading to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I am south of Houghten Lake and lo and behold there he is! I see the fox in my dream! He is black one just like in my dream. It quickly crosses my path into the trees. It was like he was waiting for me to appear.

This dream is clearly ripe with symbolism. My 2000 Saturn in sitting in my father's garage right now. The engine burned out. I am driving his mini-van. Pops would like his van back. I need a new car. It would be nice to win one.

All sorts of astrological aspects arise here. Uran is short for Uranus, the Greek father of  Cronus (Saturn). My Saturn is in storage in my father garage! A weird symetry here! Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius and is exalted in scorpio. My dad and I are both scorpios and we are entering the Age of Aquarius. Uranus is a planet of revolution. It is closely associated with the Industrial revolution. The planet revolves on it's side making it's orbit unique.  Uranus governs societies, clubs, and any group dedicated to humanitarian or progressive ideals. Uranus is the planet of sudden and unexpected changes, rules freedom and originality. In society, it rules radical ideas and people, as well as revolutionary events that upset established structures. It is all about genius, freedom and radical ideas.

My life has certainly been turned upside down this year. My career has gone off the tracks and I have no income and I am now living on the charity of family and others. So like Uranus I am moving into a radical new phase of change and direction in my life.

Now let's look at the fox symbolism in popular culture. The fox is regarded in many cultures as a symbol of cunning and trickery, but in some cultures he is not thought of as evil per se, really, but he is one who uses intelligence rather than brute strength and has magical powers. Overall his basic nature is to be wily and cunning rather than malevolent.

He could be a powerful animal ally or take you down a wrong path for his amusement perhaps. There is no way to be 100% certian with fox. I'm pondering what sort of offering might one make for fox? This the the second time this year I have seen one. They have been in my dreams more than any other animal. Clearly we have some sort of connection going on with each other.

I've always been one to mine as much information and meaning as possible out of my dreams. This one has me excited and a bit concerned as well. I'm not exactly sure what to do with it as it is so chockful of symbolic content and is not readily accessible without some effort on my part. This is somewhat frustrating for me. Well, we shall see what comes out of this I imagine...
