Beatles, Actors, Bikes

This mornings' dream begins with a quick vision of some vintage black and white film of the English rock band, the Beatles. Next scene goes to a broken down old barn and I see two actors portraying hobos, one of the is the famous comedian Steve Martin, and the other is Jack Lemon. As far as I know they never starred in a movie together and Jack Lemmon has been dead since 2001. I see the two of them sitting in the rubble. Martin has a big moustache. I think the old barn has collapsed around them. The two actors have very similar personalities. A movie with the two of them would have been very interesting indeed! A shame they never worked together.

The last of the dream has me on a bicycle. It looks like I am a bike messenger in a Major city. It is morning. I have travelled down an elevated street or bridge along a waterfront and I am bored. I get it in my crazy head to jump from the street to a nearby sky scraper window ledge. The ledge is 20-stories above the water and is about 4-foot wide with a very slight angle pointing down. I speed down the length of this ledge for maybe 30 or 40 feet. I hit the brakes when I reach the end and fly over the handle bars. Luckily, I twist my body around and I am able to grab a hold of a couple of drainage pipes hanging onto the side of the building. I look down and see the water. It looks fairly shallow and there are lots of rocks down there. I weigh the possibility of if I might survive a fall into the water. It is difficult to judge just how deep that water actually is from that great height. I can see big boulders in the water and the rocky shores butts up against the base of the building. I hang there for a long time. My arms are not tired. My good sense tells me to pull myself up and walk my bike carefully back to the street. When I walk back I see a business woman working in her office. She is oblivious of my presence outside her window. Her mind is on her work. I look down to my left to the floor level below and I see a wide balcony, and on the balcony, is a red haired woman sleeping on a mattress. She just woken up and is stretching. She is only wearing a night shirt with nothing underneath. The sun is high over head and it is mid day. I awake from the dream.

Essentially, we have three dreams here. They seem unrelated, but I sense an overall theme is in there. The Beatles, Jack Lemmon and Steve Martin all suggest a feeling of genuine love, laughter and innocence to me. I was born into the early Beatles era and my mother would put me to sleep in my crib listening to their music. I believe much of my formative years were shaped by their ideas of romance and love that came out of that music. There is something about these celebrities that appeals to me. I feel I just cannot adequately explain it.

The antics of the bike messenger suggests some inner desire for risk taking and stimulation. Apparently my inner psyche is bored. The juxtaposition of the sleeping woman and the working business woman points to some kind of sexual tension going on. I am seeing two extremes of my feminine nature manifesting: the sensual and the working nurturer. Am I internally looking to achieve some sort of balance between giving and receiving love? We witness both extremes of the feminine archetype here. Interesting how I walk by the business woman at the same level and I am ignored and the sleeping aroused woman is at a lower level, I am unseen by both, but the red haired woman really has my attention. I gaze at her for a long while. Far below her are rocks and water and danger. All the imagery here adds to an unspoken story about thrills, spills, love and work, and what is going on inside me in regards to my external world. This is another one of those dreams that demands a lot of introspection and contemplation. If a picture says a thousand words then this one has a lot to say within the images. I am going to be thinking about this one for a long, long time to say the least.
