A Page of Cups in a Field of Dreams
I woke up at four in the morning. It is very dark outside and a thunderstorm is brewing. The dream I awoke from, this time, had me seated at baseball stadium. I am with a man who is a new friend. The man has gifted me a pack of tarot cards. We are waiting for the ball game to begin. I decide I would like to give myself a reading with the cards as we wait. I see myself shuffle the cards. I lay them out on the seat between my friend and I. There is a problem. I notice the cards are mixed up with empty envelops of old bills and shopping receipts, and I discover I have only one card for my reading as I sort them out, and turn them over. The card that presents itself looks somewhat like the Page of Cups, however, the card in this deck has the medieval character seated at a dinner table and the cup is on the table before him. The card is in the upright position.
The Page of Cups typically looks like the illustration you see above. It is a well dressed young person with a cup with a fish in it at the seashore. It signifies the beginning of a new creative project or venture. It is an indication that new creative energy wants to burst forth and the unconscious mind is trying to speak to me through my dreams and with synchronistic encounters with significant people. The message is to be open to the unexpected and to not shut out the creative spirit. The Page of Cups may also indicate that my intuition is about to peak and I may receive a message from my unconscious mind. Now is the time to be trusting my gut instincts.
Often the Page of Cups appearance heralds a communication from a loved one with positive news to share and an emotional response follows. In fact, while I am typing this blog this morning, I received a video chat from my lady in Spain. We had a wonderful romantic emotional conversation. It had been a long time since we were able to speak with each other. Her computer has been broke for months. The Page of Cups suggests I will wear my heart on my sleeve and will not be afraid to show my emotions. It is ok to be romantic and sentimental.
The Page of Cups is like my inner child. This child has not been trained to suppress his innate and intuitive power. He is a kindred spirit whose imagination is uninhibited and free to dream. He can dream and create the life he chooses. The Page of Cups represents the renewal of the emotional and creative self, and a new sense of freedom for my life.
The variation of the theme with the character seated at the dinner table needs must to be further examined here. My intuition says I am about to receive abundance in my life. A new beginning will offer a chance to enjoy some of the fruits in life. I am presented with the opportunity to take a sip from the cup, I think.
An analysis of the larger dream itself suggests a friend will be instrumental in bringing me to the table to enjoy this coming abundance. The new dream friend, it should be noted, gifted me the tarot cards. This is significant. The empty envelops and receipts mixed up with the cards is a very important detail. The bills are always wanting to get paid and are a nagging ball and chain in my life. Interesting how they insert themselves even into the reading. The Page of Cups seems to surface in response to these annoying and insistent concerns. The empty envelops and receipts suggests things have been paid. The Page of Cups says it is now time to enjoy life and be like a kid again. Be free and creative like you once were when you were a child. It is time to dream and play again.
Interesting that the setting is a baseball park. The baseball park is the metaphorical and quintessential "Field of Dreams"! Overall, this is a very positive and hopeful dream. This is a great way to start the week. I must be open to what my gut tells me and look for messages from the universe. Wonderful, and surprising things are about to manifest, of this, I am very certain.
