The case of the time traveling thief and the crab faced demon

The details of the following dream have all but evaporated, but those aspects that I do remember, seem so vivid to me that I feel complelled to write about them here. It seems I am some kind of time traveling dimension hopping paranormal criminal and I have two other accomplices that assist me, from time to time, to pull off my capers. In this dream it seems I am being pursued by some sort of team of time detectives or cops. The scene takes place outside a huge multi-story building. I am circumambulating this building. I am hopping through time and dimensions as I am doing it. Sometimes my associates show up to help me in my endeavors. The building changes each time I appear. I experience this in different periods of history and enter a doorway at each corner of the building. I steal something then I keep hopping through time. The detectives are in hot pursuit and I manage to be just a step ahead of them each time.

Well, finally a cop has caught up to me in the same time and place. I manage to duck into a door in the building. I am heading up a stairway. The cop comes in as I top the stairs. The building this time looks like your quintessential victorian style haunted house.

The cop at the bottom of the stairs is disoriented. I am a very experienced time traveler and know how to cope with the physical and mental effects that time travel can have on the brain and body. However, the cop, who is a rookie is helpless . He is so out of it that he does not know who he is or what is going on.

It is at this moment that a demon spirit appears off to my left stepping out from an open crack in the plaster wall. I am looking down the stairs at the cop who has stumbled inside the door. I rush down the stairs to him and slap him around to rouse him back into consciouness. I say to him, "We need to get out of here!" It is at this point that I wake up.

The spirit demon I saw had a grey plastic like scowling face topped with a wild white shock of hair. I immediately thought of illustrations I have seen of Japanese demons. There is one particular type of demon that my research turned up, I think, that best fits what I was looking at. It is called Heikegani.
The story goes that in the year 1185 two clans of samurai, the Heiki and the Minamoto, were at war to decide which of thier respective rulers would be emperor. We'll cut to the chase of the story; the Heiki lost in a decisive naval battle. The last of the Heiki clan samurai died drowning themselves rather than accepting humiliating defeat. A tradition was started by subsequent generations of Japanese fisherman to release back into the water every crab, of a particular local species, when caught. The backs of the grey shelled crab can resemble the fierce faces on the helmuts of the dead samurai warriors. It is good karma to put them back and not eat them.

So what to make of all this? I don't know. The building could be a metaphor for the hospital I'm doing my internship at. There are certain hours and doors there when I have no access. Who knows what sort of spirits may lurk there. People die there you know. As for my life of crime? Well, I feel like a fraud in the kitchen of the hospital. I don't feel I am welcome or anyone takes my efforts serious.  I'm walking on egg shells around these women there. I'm waiting for an angry outburst from anyone of them telling me to go home and never come back.

Things at work in my subconscious manifesting in my dreams? Who knows. I know one thing for
sure this dream and many of my others it would make for interesting movie plots. All my dreams could be made into some great books or movies. I should try my hand at writing screen plays.
