Fish in a Bottle

The dream this morning was in full colour and short in duration. I was standing along side a river. The shore is rocky and the water is swiftly flowing past me. It is a beautiful bright sunny warm Summer day. I can feel a breeze and can see pine trees sway ever so gently in the wind. It seems I am out looking for something that was lost. I am not sure what it was I lost.

I spot a small white object in the water. I stoop to pick it up. My hand is cold and wet from the water. It is a small white medicine bottle. The label on the container says it is some sort of super formula vitamin that I heard about on some infomercial. I think to myself, "Aha! this is just what I need!" I twist off the cap and open the bottle, and inside is a tiny goldfish-sized fish, but it is not a goldfish, it is a baby puffer fish! It looks just like the one pictured above. This is the moment at which I wake up.

The first thing that comes to mind is that I take fish oil capsules on a regular basis. The thinking is that they keep me healthy and help my body to heal. I don't know how effective they really are, but I believe they help.

The puffer fish is the second most poisonous invertebrate in the world. In Orient it's meat is prepared by specially trained chefs and a small number of people die each year from eating it. It supposedly causes numbness and diners experience some sort of high when consuming it.

The unconscious must be saying something here. Perhaps I should question if the fish oil capsules are really a healthy benefit? The doctors and science says that they are safe and very healthy. They are good for the heart. Perhaps I am misidentifying the species of the fish? I don't know. I am not a fish expert.

The dream reminds me of the tarot card from the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. Here is what Wikipedia has to say about it's divination usage:

" This card can represent a sweet-natured child who loves home life and family but may struggle in school. This child enjoys the arts and is very spiritual. The child may be psychic.
This page has a powerful imagination, as well. Creativity and vision are among this person's blessings.
As a situation it represents an opportunity for artistic or creative learning and expansion."

In the dream I am standing at the shore of a body of water gazing at a fish within a container. The parallels are quite amazing. A more detailed understanding of the card says that the card represents some sort of beginning or renewal. The young man seems to be making a toast and is surprised by a fish in his cup. The fish even seems to be sharing secrets with him. The Page of Cups indicates the surprising and unexpected nature of the imagination and the spirit, and that it can, without warning, burst forth from the realm of the unconscious.  Something has inspired us to do or see things in a new way. It even suggests psychic powers at work. One should be prepared to expect a burst of creativity and intuition to occur.

Often, the Page of Cups, presages welcomed news from a loved one. This, in fact, did happen when I got the news from my fiancée, that her visa interview at the American embassy in Madrid, was a complete success! She will be coming to America for us to get married soon!

Overall, the Page of Cups, says with it's appearance, that I should never stop listening to my intuition and believe in my dreams. If I stop pursuing my dreams then they lack the power to come true. Dreams can provide a ray of hope in the darkest times. If you dare to dream then wonderful things can manifest and anything is possible.

My lady and I have suffered through much for a long time now. She awakens in me my own inner child and I feel free again to dream big ideas and delightful possibilities.

The medicine bottle of my dream is like Aladdin's lamp and the fish is my genie. Perhaps, if I free the fish, my dreams will come true. Who knows what secrets our fish friend, might share with me? I like to imagine the possibilities.
