Christian Magic

This short dream happened a few days ago and I am just now getting around to writing it down. I dreamed I was in church I was listening to a pastor preach. He was wearing a white shirt and tie. The small church was packed with people and it as a hot summer day. The preacher man was sweating. He spoke for about 5 minutes and then introduces another man who comes on stage from the right. The man is wearing a sparkly green sequin tuxedo jacket. He had dark hair and goatee. He called himself, "The Christian Magician" He is a Christian comedian and entertainer. He begins his act by making a bouquet of flowers appear in his hands which he tosses into the air. Flowers spill everywhere which gets a big laugh with the audience. This is the point at which I wake up.

Preaching and stage magic in a church seems like an odd combination. A quick Google search indicates that there are, in fact, Christian magician acts out there and that they are widely accepted and they do perform in churches. I was unaware of this prior to the dream. I am pleasantly surprised. I would think most conservative Christian churches would shun anything that smacks of the dark arts, on the other hand, if performed and presented honestly with the gospel message I could see it would be just another technique to present the good news of Christ.

The dream might be a precognitive or a premonition. I actually attended church yesterday. It is a small local church here. I didn't see a magic act following the service, but who is to say, we won't be seeing one in the future?

I am not sure how to interpret this dream. I recently did a personal assessment at a financial workshop and spirituality seems to be one category that I am lacking in. I promised my lady, Hakima, that I would go to church and pray about our current situation with the embassy and her immigration to America. We are waiting on a miracle and a breakthrough. It would be wonderful to see something "magical" happen in this regard for us.

There is a yearning within me to see behind the clever act we are getting from the bureaucrats. They promise much, but it seems, like it is all designed to dazzle and entertain, and delivers no substantive results. The sleight of hand we are seeing is only half the story.

The definition of magic is:
"the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces."

Well, strictly speaking, prayer is a form of magic is it not? It is the heart and intent of the person using it that determines if it is good, bad or evil.

This dream will need to be left open for further analysis. I am struggling to really give the in depth examination that it deserves. My gut feeling tells me further clarification will be forth coming in the near future. Things are coming to a head with the embassy and we are making significant progress. Mysterious things are yet to be revealed and understood. I am convinced of it.
